Volunteer Opportunities
Our dedicated group of volunteers is currently monitoring the blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) in Lacamas, Round and Fallen Leaf Lakes. Partnering with NOAA’s Phytoplankton Monitoring Network, they have received training in sampling protocols, water quality measurements, and cyanobacteria identification. Committed to sampling weekly, rain or shine, they ensure accurate and consistent data collection. Tools and training are provided for incoming volunteers.

Plant Survey Committee: Focuses on collecting, identifying and cataloging aquatic plant species in our lakes to understand and monitor plant biodiversity.

Phosphate/PO4 Committee: Works to support efforts to reduce phosphate levels in our lakes and watershed to improve water quality and prevent harmful algal blooms.

Website/Social Media (Creative Team) Committee: Manages our online presence through website updates, social media engagement, and creative content creation to raise awareness and share information.

Data Collection Committee: Handles the collection, organization, and analysis of environmental data to support our watershed management and restoration efforts.
